my suitcase didn't make it to the airport
the rest of me got tangled in the clouds
and those parts that made it
are faded with memories

and met a man who called himself Karl Blau
Blau means blue in German but it also
is a synonym for "drunk"
I didn't have a thing to drink but even so
I'm not really sure how I got home home

are faded with memories

I went over to Tomi's place for dinner
and I ate until I thought I had a body
and thought until I thought I thought
and talked until I thought i had a story
and laughed until I thought that I was happy

Sibsi took me to the university
and we attended a lecture on "cool"

the history of cool is that it is a construct
a sophisticated survival strategy
when you're cool nothing can hurt nothing can harm you
when you're cool you move up in the hierarchy
coolness is a very male concept
but I wouldn't mind being that poker face
woman casually smoking a cigarette
a woman determined to be free
of the sap they dish up with the romance

if only I could be so cool
but love love love is cruel
and I've watched too many movies
and I watched your eyes eyes eyes
